REPORT TEXT


What is the Report Text ?
1.      Definition of Report Text :
Report text is a text which present information about something, as it is. It is as a result of systematic observation and analyses. Its social function is to present about something.
2.      Generic structure of Report Text  :
A report text consist of the following structure :
§      General Clasification : Stating classification  of general aspect of thing : animal, public place, plant,etc which will be discussed in general.
§      Description : Describing the thing which will be discussed in detail : part per part, customs or deed for living creature and usage for materials.
                          
3.      Language Feature of Report Text :
§      Use of general nouns
§      Use of relating verbs to describe features
§      Some use of action verbs when describing behaviour
§      Use of timeless present tense to indicate usualness
§      Use of technical term.

4.      Example of  Report Text :
The Pelican Report

General Classification:
The white pelican is one of the most successful fish-eating birds.

Description:
The success is largely due to its command hunting behaviour. A group, perhaps two dozen birds, will gather in a curved arc some distance offshore. The birds then begin to move forward towards the shore, beating the water furiously with their wings, driving the fish before them.

When the water is shallow enough for the birds to reach the fish, the formation breaks up as each bird dips its bill into the water to scoop up its meal. As the bird lifts its head, the water drains from its bill leaving the fish which are then swallowed. Pelicans are among the oldest group of birds, Fossils of this genus have been found dating back 40 million years.




The other example :

Football Play

Football is a game played by two teams of eleven. They try to score by kicking or heading the ball into the other team’s goal. Ten of the players can not use their hands. The goal keeper can handle the ball to stop it going into the goal.

Games similar to football have been played for many centuries. The rules of the games were written down in 1863. In England, the FA ( Football Association ) cup was first played for in 1872. In the same year, England played Scotland in the first game.

Today the most important International Competition is the World Cup which takes place in every four years. Brazil and Italy have each won the world cup three times.

Perjalanan Hidup


PERJALANAN HIDUP YANG PANJANG

        

     
      Sebuah jalan hidup yang begitu panjang. Aku selalu berharap bahwa ada seorang teman yang dapat bersamaku dan menemani ku hingga akhir perjalanan ini. Aku tidak pernah berharap banyak dalam hidup ini, yang aku harapakan bahwa aku dapat hidup dengan baik sesuai rambu-rambu yang benar dan juga aku dapat membuat mereka(orangtuaku) tersenyum lebar.

      Kehidupan sederhana atau pun miskin sudah aku rasakan sejak dahulu. Aku telah mengetahui betapa beratnya menjalani hidup didunia yang fana ini. Terkadang seseorng tidak dapat mengembangkan kemampuannya karena beberapa hal .Hal tersebut yang membuat ku semakin geram dengan mereka yang hanya duduk manis menikmati uang kami tanpa memperdulikan penderitaan kami yang berada dibawah ,

     Kami ingin perubahan, perubahan yang nyata. perubahan yang dimana tidak ada lagi wakil rakyat yang hanya ongkang-ongkang kaki, mereka harus kerja demi kami, rakyat. Jika kalian tidak mau bekerja keras maka kami tidak membutuhkan orang2 yang tidak amanah seperti anda-anda sekalian. 

     kami ini hanya rakyat biasa yang membutuhkan perhatian dari pemimpinnya..
kami tidak pernah menuntut hal yang diluar jangkauan, yang kami inginkan hanya hidup kami semua makmur, aman, dan juga sentosa. Aku berharap pemerintah yang baru ini dapat membawa perubahan yang berarti.!!!!!

Expository Paragraph/ Writing

Expository Paragraph / Writing

A good expository paragraph is the key to clear written communication. A quality paragraph prepares the reader, presents the relevantdata, and then summarizes the information. The opening sentences need to first identify the topic of theparagraph and then name the specific supports that are to be used. The body of the paragraph presents specificinformation that clarifies and provides examples of the topic. Lastly, the paragraph needs to summarize the evidence and closewith a strong call to action. By preparing the reader, presenting strongrelevant evidence and summarizing succinctly,a good writer can persuadeor convice an astute reader. Good communication starts with a clear formula.

A paragraph that explains or analizes a topic is an expository paragraph ( Smalley and Ruetten. At al., p100). It includes explanation, facts, informations etc. Expository paragraph can be devided into several model of writings such as process paragraph and procedure paragraph. As for thr describtive paragraph, the expository paragraph has similirities to that of descriptive paragraph in the tense depend on the time of description. Hence, you may use present or past tense or future tense.  The expository paragraph have three component of paragraph such. There are topic sentence, supporting sentences and concluding sentences.

Major Influences to Smoke ( For Teens)

Introductory Paragraph

Hear the word smoke. In my mind that there are some bad thing. Adolescence is a period which they begun to separate themselves from their parents and join the peer group. Smoking is a major health problem that is very alarming nowadays especially among teenagers. Though most people know that smoking is bad for their health but they are even more who consume them.
Smoking is very popular thing among students in high school and is commonly done among the students, especially among teenagers. Even high school kids and teens are imitated by them.
There are not good thing of smoking based on any term. Teens are active smokers which give many problems and can be severe for their health, psychological and even their future.
 

 Body Paragraph

  A lot of facts are In our beloved country that showed that many teenagers smoke. This is a concern for many parents to pay more attention to the children. There are several factors which is the reason why teens smoke. First, Environment Influence. Environmental influences include some coverage of the neighborhood friends, and family influences. Peers influence become the biggest influence for adolescents who do not smoke. At first they do not want to smoke. They think that smoking will not give a good effect for our health. Yet they continue to persuade friends which persuade them to want smoke. Smokers say if they do not smoke they mean it sissy. Then family influence. Family is very influential in the development of children both their physical and psychological. The more harmonious family in can be child's development well. In this case, The Parents should be sensitized or give more attention to their child so that the child does not feel the lack of affection from parents. There are many teens who smoke due to conditions that are harmonious family less.
  
           Second, Adults Smoking. They assume that adult is someone who deserves to be a role model. So that every adult do whatever it will be imitated by them. The same goes with smoking. They see the adults smoke then they imitate it without considering the consequences. They do not even think that smoking can damage the health of those that they do just follow it. So we as adults must lead and set a good example to them. Third, Curios Feeling. Adolescence is a period when they are searching for their identity. At this stage, they are very susceptible to doing things that are found to be good. Because they have the curiosity feeling which is very high. They are always curious about new things that encourage them to do it . Like this smoke. They are very curious about how it feels to smoke it. It was curiosity that led them to try smoke.
 
Fourth, Great Feeling. At this stage, they will seek their identity in order to receive praise or a degree that they were great. For those seeking their identity. They look for the wrong road with smoke which make them great. Most boy teens and girl consider smoking as a way that they look great and cool, but it is wrong belief.
Fifth, Cigarretes can improve their Ability. They are lazy to learn but they want to get good grades sometimes tend to look for shortcuts. Besides cheating. They think that smoking can improve their academic. In fact, it did not like it . Smoking will make them lazy to learn more, and will squander their money. If they want to improve their academic, then they have to study diligently that do not smoke or other negative things.
 
Sixth, Appear More Stylish. With smoking, they think that they will be easier to approach the their kind person. Because they think smoking is slang. Assumption that is supposed to be removed from their minds. Smoking will not make them more stylish but in the reality, many girls who do not like men who smoke. So if you want to style does not have to smoke. And lastly. Relieve Stress. Our life are not  always in accordance with the plan. Because a lot of the problems we face as did the teens. Sometimes they have problems they can not solve it. Like course, family problems, problems with the environment and others. They are very confused what to do to solve their problems. Therefore they are looking for an outlet so that they are more calm with smoking. They think that the smoking  make them that will be better and are not stress anymore. This is the wrong thing in their life. They should look for the positive outlet vent like making friends, and others.

Concluding Paragraph

So that are the seventh factor which is the reason why many young people who smoke. Expected in this case all parties must come to act, not only themselves, but their parents, friends and their environment what can make them to change. What will happen to the future of our country if our generation alone is not healthy anymore. Therefore, let us preserve and protect our next generation. That all from me I say thank you.
