Description of Narrative Writing

How to Make Narrative Writing based on My Own Narrative Writing


                             I.        Tell the Description of Narrative Writing
Well, I am going to tell the description of narrative writing. Narrative writing is one type of paragraph development in a series of writing events from time to time set out in the order early, middle, and end. In this case, from one event to the other events are related in order of time (chronological).  In the narrative, there is also a character who faces a conflict . In this narrative also , the conflict will determine the storyline . And then there already was the conflict then it must be a resolution of the incident that occurred a good settlement. The events will be more interesting if the conflict reached its peak. There are three elements in the form such as the events , characters , and conflict is a fundamental element of a narrative . If the three elements is combined together, these three elements is called the plot or groove. Thus, the narrative is a story that is presented by the plot or groove . The narrative is also a narrative essay, describe the occurrence of an event, whether the event a reality (non-fiction story), and imaginary events (fiction-story).  The narrative writing can be tells about the history, fairy tales , and can also be events that happen in our life.

The Generic Structures of Narrative Writing:
1.      The Orientation
In this orientation, introduce the characters, time and place of the events that have occurred.
2.      Complication
 In this section, introduced the beginning of the problem until the peak of the problem.
3.      Resolution
Furthermore, the completion of the resolution, there are the problems that were occurring.
4.      Coda (additional)
In this coda, there is a moral message implicit or explicit in the story
Language Features of Narrative
·         Using processes verbs
·          Using action verbs
·         Using thinking verbs
·         Using Simple Past Tense
·         Using time conjunction
·         Using temporal conjunction.      
Why we should write a narrative writing ?
As we know, the inform about narrative writing. We should to know “why we should write a narrative writing”? because we can learn some story in the past like  fiction story such as legend, fairy tales and also there is nonfiction story like history, and our own experiences if we can write narrative writing.


                          II.        How to Differ from the other Writing Genres.
After I told about the description of narrative writing.  I am going to explain about how to differ from the other writing genres.  Let me explain it ! actually if we learn about the difference narrative with the other writing genres or I can say “ how to differ from them”, I have some thoughts about this matter. There are some important things that can distinguish narrative with the other writing genres.
1.      If in other genres may only explain or tell the problems alone, but in the narrative text in which there is an act or acts which resulted in the problem and solution
2.      Let me check its generic structure alone can be distinguished, although between narrative and recount have in terms of narrative writing commonly  which is orientation but sometimes there is a solution or coda in narrative writing whereas no recount , as well as with other writing genres.
3.      In a narrative writing, there is elements of the act or acts. Whereas in other genres are not, example in descriptive writing only portray something without any protrusion element of action.
4.      If the narrative text, the story is arranged which is interrelated chronologically with each other in a time sequence clearly than the other genres sometimes not arranged in order of time clearly.
5.       Trying to answer the question " what happened ? " That is trying to be explained in the narrative text , but if the other genres do not.
6.      If the narrative text can be a story about an event or experience of the author . Although between narrative and recount can have the form of the author's experience in the recount, but there is a problem that eventually becomes climax, as well as with the other writing genres.
7.      If  in other genres, there is no conflict like in descriptive , recount or Expository  writing but  there is conflict in the narrative writing because it used conflict, the narrative writing is usually uninteresting so that it can achieve the climax of the story.
8.      Narrative writing has aesthetic value, whereas in other genres do not. Sometimes there is author's perspective of narrative writing. Viewpoint used the first-person perspective and a third-person perspective.


                            III.    The Step How To Make Narrative Writing
Well guys, I am going to explain how to make narrative writing. let me explain them one by one. There are some step to make narrative writing :
1.    Decide on a topic.
Look over the list of suggestions or brainstorm a few of your own.  Remember, a narrative is a story with characters, setting, problem, and solution.  Be sure to choose a story that has all the parts of a good narrative.
Example :  the topic is experiences

2.    Establish the setting
Answer the questions Who?  What?  Where?  When?  And  Why?  These questions help to narrow and describe the setting before the problem or action takes place.
Example :  I've fallen off my bike when I was little because I was riding very fast.

3.    Decide topic sentences
After we have a topic, we have to decide the topic sentences. The topic sentences have to include the complete sentences. Example : I have some experiences in my life.

4.    Decide and write the supporting sentences
In these supporting sentences are the supporting of the topic sentence. Here can also be raised deeds that cause problems or we can create the problems  which achieve the climax of the story. Example :  “ I have some experiences in our life. When I was from childhood to adulthood. I lived in a modest family, and therefore I have learned independent life that I was from childhood. I did activities that the other child did not do necessarily. At the time, I was in elementary school, when other kids were playing…….”.

5.    Write The Concluding Sentences
In the concluding sentence expresses the conclusion of the story. Is there a best solution or not ?
Example : 
 “So that, were  all of the little experience that I had, I will never forget the experiences. Because that experience is the best teacher, we will never be able to do the best without experience. With the experience, we can introspect ourselves if there are mistakes in the past so that we can be a good person to live a good life anyway. I will share my experience later to my children, so they know how the experience is very important in our life. Thank a lot for the case for me to share my little experiences”.



                                IV.  Rewrite Your Narrative Writing, and Show or Underline The Topic Sentence on Your Writing

In the world we live in while. Before we get to live forever Hereafter later . Therefore in every human life, each of them had the experience of both a pleasant experience and unpleasant experience which all of them are part of our valuable experiences. An event or activity can said an experience because it caused us to experience something unusual and that we could not forgot the experience. Exception me, I also had the experience of a very diverse which cannot forgot up from the last time to now and it is impossible which able to forgot whenever. The diversity of experience was something what made my life a little more colorful which it was not flat.

I had unforgettable experiences. When I was from childhood to adulthood. I lived in a modest family, and therefore I have learned independent life that I was from childhood. I did activities that the other child did not do necessarily. At the time, I was in elementary school, when other kids were playing. I went to rice field to help my lovely parents. The experience was not forgotten until now how my life is so difficult that I was determined to study harder so that my family life was little changed.

I take care of themselves for purposes of entry into junior high school. Why was that? Because I knew my parents were very busy and I did not want to bother my parents more. I have received at National Junior High School 1 TBT. The humbled experience, humiliated, I ever felt all of them in Junior High School. It was enough to made a little uncomfortable and never thought in my mind "why just my life was insulted, whether I was wrong " . And then when I was in Senior High School, If another child brought a motorcycle to go our school. In the another case, I just brought a bicycle that was not good anymore. And I was thinking " why did I have to live like this , while others did not " I thought it because I was immature.

I was patients to do it. I tried that I would keep my spirit more.  I was still eager to continued learning until I forwarded to Senior High School . Then I never complained to my parents because I was afraid to bother them n made them which are sad.  


After I graduated in Senior High School, I followed the bidikmisi program for SMPTN but has not been lucky apparently. From there it was, I started to give up because I was afraid that I could not go to college. In my mind, I wanted to continue studying, but it looked like my father which did not have the fee. And I have started to think to work first.

Yet My father wanted to pay my tuition unexpectedly. Then I signed up in the Muhammadiyah University Of Metro, my beloved campus. And I was accepted into the English language courses well.  I and my family were really happy.

So that were all of the little experience that I had, I will never forget the experiences. Because that experience is the best teacher, we will never be able to do the best without experience. With the experience, we can introspect ourselves if there are mistakes in the past so that we can be a good person to live a good life anyway. I will share my experience later to my children, so they know how the experiences is very important in our life. Thank a lot for the case for me to share my little experiences.

V. Why My Sentences is called as the Topic Sentences
       The topic sentences of my writing is in first sentences of body paragraph. The topic sentences derived from a word that is topic or theme after that, it was developed in a complete sentence is called the topic sentences. The sentences is called as the topic sentences because the sentences is the general statement who write the author than will be support in supporting sentences. In topic sentence, there are some important thing or problem that will be revealed to the reader.
